Overview of Shopping Campaign Management in Google Ads | You Must Know
Google AdWords is an advertising system, which lets you target ads on particular products and create a campaign that automatically generates ad copy. To keep track of all of the ads you've created and all of the data which you have on your accounts, we also use Google AdWords Shopping, which is a product-targeting system, where ads are automatically targeted on products on selected third party websites.
Shopping Campaign Management in Google Ads - Overview
The first steps of shopping campaigns are rather straightforward, but the setup is the most important because all the work is done here. This section will cover everything about managing your Shopping campaigns. It is possible to promote your business through Google Ads Shopping Campaign Management if you live in India and you are looking for the best Google Ads Shopping Campaign Management agency.
We’ll also look at how to create ad sets. In case you’re new to shopping campaigns, this might sound a little bit confusing. Don’t worry, we’ll explain everything in detail, so you’ll be able to make the most of your shopping campaigns.
Step 1 - Plan your products
You’ll start planning your products in Google Ads for Shopping campaigns. For this example, we are going to create a simple campaign where we want to advertise to a specific target market, and focus on selling a particular brand of products.
Create a new campaign.
We are going to name it AdWords Shopping Campaign, so we can easily recognize the campaign from the UI.
At the next page, select Ad format.
The first option you have is Banner, as the first ads on Google Shopping will probably be simple product listings on third party websites. We are going to select the Text and Image option for our campaigns.
Choose your ad sizes.
We are going to choose to show our ads in three sizes.
In the next step, we are going to set a goal for our campaigns. It determines what happens after the end of the campaign - whether or not we will pay money, the amount of money we will pay and so on.
You can decide to set goals for a specific goal of the campaign, or just set a goal for the entire campaign. In this example, we are going to set one single goal - the average order value of the products in the campaign. The Average order value will tell us whether we’ll make any money in the campaign.
Step 2 - Set your targeting criteria
On the next screen, we are going to target the most relevant people to our campaign.
We are going to target people based on their gender. In this example, we are going to target only men. We will create ads that are going to display next to their search results. You can also target keywords, where ads will be shown on specific search terms.
We are going to target people between 18 and 30 years old.
And also, select Google Shopping criteria and add a new one - average order value.
Google Shopping’s ads display next to products that are currently on the search results page.
The order value tells us what products to display. This is how much the average person is paying for that item.
Add a new targeting criteria
When we are finished, the next step is to target only items with the highest order value.
Set the targeting criteria for the products, and press the Target button.
You should see that the Ads Manager displays fewer ads than the previous options. We are going to target only the top 10,000 items.
Step 3 - Get the product inventory
The Google Shopping ads do not show in Google Shopping itself, they are displayed only next to the items in search results. To see Google Shopping results, people have to click on the ‘Show more results’ button, which usually shows some shopping results.
